Falun Bröd
Create a sandwich review app for a local sandwich cafe, Falun Bröd. The app allows users to view and leave reviews, as well as order sandwiches via the app.
Overview
Falun Bröd is a popular cafe located in Falun, Sweden that specialises in serving quality sandwiches. Their menu offers a wide variety of options, including chicken, fish, pork, beef, shrimp, tofu, halloumi, and vegetable sandwiches for vegetarians and vegans.
Every month they feature a special sandwich made with seasonal ingredients. All of the products are made with organic ingredients. Additionally, the breads are freshly baked every day.
Research
To gather insights into users’ experiences and preferences when choosing sandwiches, I conducted one-on-one interviews with seven participants. The participants were selected to represent a diverse range of ages (20-60) and included both students and full-time employees. The interviews were conducted via video conferences and lasted approximately 20 minutes each. During the interviews, I asked a set of carefully crafted questions to explore different aspects of the user experience.

Identified Pain Points
By creating empathy maps from user interviews, you were able to identify pain points by analyzing the information gathered in the “Says,” “Thinks,” “Does,” and “Feels” quadrants. These pain points represent the challenges, frustrations, or areas of dissatisfaction that users expressed during the interviews. Based on the analysis of the empathy maps, you identified four key pain points:
label visibility
Lack of visibility regarding ingredient freshness, nutritional information, and allergen labeling.
Authenticity
Inability to see the history and authenticity of reviewers, leading to concerns about the reliability of reviews.
Dietary
Difficulty in finding sandwich options suitable for specific dietary needs, such as vegan diets.
Transparency
Frustration when the price of a reviewed item is not provided or easily accessible.
